Jessica has had an interest in hair cutting and style design since she’s been young. As many ladies in the hair care industry, she started out by working on her family and friends. She decided to put her skills to work by attending a professional college in the Salinas Valley just out of high school. She was a step ahead of her classmates, since she’d been working in a busy salon as receptionist during her High School days and beyond. She had also worked as an assistant to a professional stylist during the summer months, where she was privileged to learn about cutting and coloring from his many years of experience.
After graduation from Cosmetology College, she obtained her license and accepted a position in a salon in Scotts Valley. She eventually was offered the position of shift manager. She has attended many seminars and cutting classes while in this position and continues to attend seminars and beauty related events focusing on cutting, color theory, waxing, styling and grey blending.
Deciding to move on to an independent position with Cookie’s salon was a hard one, but the desire to expand her possibilities was paramount in the decision. She really enjoys the more relaxed atmosphere, being able to spend more time with her clients. She prefers to take the time to listen to her clients and feels it’s paramount to creating the perfect cut or color service.
